ALBANY, N.Y. - On Friday, the Empire State Plaza's ice-skating rink will officially reopen for the winter.
Hannaford Supermarkets will be sponsoring 'Free-Skate Fridays' this year, a weekly event that offers the public free ice-skate rentals every Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Empire State Plaza Rink, beginning on November 23rd at 11:00 a.m.
The New York State Holiday tree-lighting and fireworks festival will be hosted on Sunday, December 2nd between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the Empire State Plaza.
The skating rink will be closed during the fireworks, and will reopen afterwards.
The skating rink will be open every day between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., depending on the weather, starting on Friday.
It is free to skate.
Skate rentals cost $3 dollars for children under 12 years old and $4 dollars for adults.
Skate rentals will be available whenever the rink is open.
A full-service snack bar will be open on Friday nights, weekends and school holidays.
