ALBANY, N.Y. – An Albany holiday tradition lit up the city Monday night and ushered in the unofficial start of the holiday season.
The switch was flipped at Price Chopper's Capital Holiday Lights in Washington Park.
This is the 16th-Annual holiday lights benefit for the Albany Police Athletic League.
The lights will be open to the public to drive through Washington Park beginning this Friday - costing $15 per car.
If you prefer to walk, the only nights you can do that are Tuesday, Wednesday and then again on January 5th, just before they are turned off for the season.
