ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany detectives arrested a 16-year-old Broad Street resident Thursday for breaking into several locations throughout the City of Albany.
According to Albany Police spokesman Steve Smith, in September the teen broke into a home on Crowne Terrace, but the home was occupied at the time and he fled on foot.
In October the teen broke into Café Capriccio, located at 49 Grand Street and stole an Apple iPad and currency. Later that month he attempted to break into the business again by climbing up the fire escape, but was unsuccessful.
In November he walked into the fenced-in lot of Merit Heating and Plumbing, located at 178 Catherine Street. Once inside the fence, he entered the warehouse and began to walk around. He was approached by personnel inside the warehouse and fled down the street. The owner followed him and was able to get a picture of him while he was the corner of South Swan Street and Catherine Street. The teen then walked up to the business owner, took the camera from his hands, and fled again.
The teen was arrested following an investigation by detectives.
