EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. - Local firefighters spent the weekend helping out with the Sandy recovery downstate.
The East Greenbush Fire Department delivered a truck full of donations they collected from our community to Staten Island.
They gave out cases of water, clothes, and cleaning supplies at the Tunnel 2 Tower Foundation -- a firefighter group started in honor of a Staten Island responder who died at the World Trade Center.
While helping our New York neighbors, firefighters got a first-hand look at the devastation downstate and how people are pitching in to help each other out.
