Momentive Performance Materials to temporarily lay off workers

WATERFORD, N.Y. - Just days before Thanksgiving, a Waterford company announced its temporarily laying off hundreds of employees.

Momentive Performance Materials plans to temporarily lay off 200 workers -- all at their Waterford plant.

The company says the job loss won't be permanent, and the employees will only be out of work for one to 14 days during the layoff.

Momentive cites an unfavorable global economy and a typical winter slow-season.
