ALBANY, N.Y. - The tight race for the 46th State Senate District seat could get even closer - absentee ballot counting began in Albany Monday to determine the outcome of that race.
Currently, Republican George Amedore has a narrow 54-vote lead over Cecilia Tkzakyk.
But the lead could change again, and this race may end up in court. Attorneys for both sides could meet before a judge next week if the race is still razor close.
The result will determine what party has control of the senate.
Cecilia Tkzakyk had the lead after Election Day - only to see it slip away last week when re-canvasing in Greene County gave George Amedore the advantage.
