LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. - The Warren County Sheriff's Office responded early Sunday evening to the report of a male subject lying in the roadway after having been struck by a car.
The accident occurred in the Town of Lake George, on State Route 9, just north of Fort George Road.
A witness of the accident told police that the driver of the vehicle, 83-year-old Gertrude H. Vanryn of Queensbury, did not have her headlights on at the time of the accident.
The pedestrian that was struck, 56-year-old Chester J. Walker of Glens Falls, was taken by Lake George EMS to Glens Falls Hospital.
Vanryn was ticketed for not having her headlights on.
