COHOES, N.Y. - A slew of entertainers gathered in Cohoes on Sunday afternoon, to extend support to their neighbors down south that are still suffering the after-effects of Hurricane Sandy.
From noon to five p.m., comedians and musicians took turns on stage making their audience laugh and dance, as donations were gratefully compiled.
Tickets were fifteen dollars, and the money goes directly to the American Red Cross, specifically for Sandy victims.
Everyone that attended was asked to bring one non-perishable food item, cleaning item or item of new clothing.
All donated items go directly into the care of the Long Beach Fire Department.
The East Berne Fire Department temporarily donated one of their fire-trucks to the cause, which is being filled with the community's donations throughout the day.
Comedians included John Mulrooney, John Tobin, Jodi Weiner and Vinnie Mark.
Musical performers included Hung Jury, Jenson Rhodes Tribute Band, Off The Wire and Flame.
The event was held at Michael's Banquet House in Cohoes.
