CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – A benefit, "In Memory of a Young Hero, Love, Lane Fundraiser" will be held Sunday to support the family of Lane Rowe, the young boy who died trying to save his brothers and sister last month.
Donations will be accepted at the door, $20 for adults and $5 for children. The event, held at the Upstate Concert Halll from noon until 5 p.m., will feature entertainment, a silent auction and more.
Lane was killed while trying to save his siblings as the family minivan started rolling backwards down the driveway toward the busy street. He was pinned beneath the vehicle as he tried to stop it.
Lane's siblings, ages 12, 4 and 2, inside the van were all okay.
In a previous interview, Lane's mother told NEWS10 she wants her son to be remembered as a hero for saving his young siblings.
Lane's 12-year-old sister Luca agreed, "He saved us and he's our hero."
