Organized search effort continues for missing Sand Lake man

SAND LAKE, N.Y. – A walking and driving search, open to anyone willing to help, began at 8:30 a.m. Saturday to search for a missing Rensselaer County man.

The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a missing person: 28-year-old Ryan Patton, of Momrow Road in the Town of Sand Lake.

Patton was last seen leaving the Lakeview Inn in Averill Park around 10:45 p.m. Monday night in his 2000 maroon Chevrolet Silverado truck with a NY registration DKK4754.

No family or friends have heard from him, and he failed to report to his job at Phelps Brothers Roofing.

Family and friends continue to search areas where they believe Patton may have travelled recently. They are offering a reward for information leading to his whereabouts, and are posting missing person information flyers throughout Rensselaer County.

Patton is described as a white male, 5'8", 220 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

The Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the New York State Police Aviation Unit, who flew a helicopter over the Sand Lake area to search for Patton.

Anyone with information regarding Patton's whereabouts are urged to call investigators at (518) 270-5252 or (518) 266-1981.

A website has also been created, dedicated to bringing him home safely. The site contains all current information, media coverage, and lists recovery efforts.
