Students in Loudonville collect hundreds of items for food bank

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Students at the Loudonville Christian School have been busy this month collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to a local Thanksgiving food pantry.

The sanctuary at Loudonville Christian School was filled Thursday with hundreds of box and canned food items that will be donated to the City Mission just in time for Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Students have also been working on filling shoe boxes with toys and other necessities to donate to Operation Christmas Child, which ships the boxes around the world to children in need.

The students, grades Pre-K through 12th, gathered for a service Thursday morning to recognize their generosity.

This was the biggest donation the students have had since the program began more than 15 years ago.
