Local teen shot with BB's, police still searching for suspects

Posted: Updated:

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - A local teen says he went out trick or treating and ended up rushed to the hospital after being attacked with a bb gun.

Randy just had his stiches removed Thursday, but he's still having nightmares. His father says he wants the police to try and find out who snuck up on his son and committed the nasty Halloween night prank that sent him to the hospital.

According to Randy Hayostek Sr., his son rushed to their home bleeding from the head and neck, photos show how deep the bb's entered his neck and scalp.

Randy was rushed to the hospital, the bb's later surgically removed.

Randy Jr. says he had simply been trick or treating with another friend in his Schenectady neighborhood, in the area of Becker and Robinson streets when a red Kia SUV rolled up slowly with the windows down - then shots rang out.

The Schenectady police tell NEWS10 they have a detective working on the case, but Randy's dad says he would like your help as well.

A spokesman with the police also told NEWS10 that they had calls the same night for a car that was sprayed with bb's nearby at State and Elm.
