VALATIE, N.Y. – The balloons are up and the stage set for what Congressman Chris Gibson's campaign hopes will be a victory celebration at the Winding Brook Country Club in Valatie.
Gibson is expected to arrive after the polls close.
The campaign says their internal polling has Gibson up 10 points over challenger Julian Schreibman. However the latest Siena poll has the congressman leading by just five.
The Gibson campaign says close senate and assembly races in Duchess and Rensselaer counties should increase turnout in those Republican areas of the 19th district. They also say the hot senate and assembly races in the Capital Region where Gibson is well known and polls the strongest will help him secure a second term.
