Bronze Stars and Purple Hearts awarded during local veterans ceremony

WYNANTSKILL, N.Y. - A medals ceremony for veterans was held at the American Legion Post on Main Ave in Wynantskill on Sunday morning.

The ceremony was preceded by a gratuitous breakfast for all veterans and their accompanying family members.

Up to twenty five veterans were expected to receive military awards and decorations for their service in the nation's armed forces during conflicts from World War II to the Vietnam War.

Two Bronze Stars and three Purple Hearts were among the medals presented.

The breakfast was held between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m., and the medals ceremony took place at noon.
