ALBANY, N.Y. - Nearly 1.3 million New Yorkers still without power Friday, most of them in New York City and Long Island.
With power now back to almost all customers in the Capital Region, National Grid is now sending crews downstate.
A number of crew members left from New Baltimore Friday morning to help get the power back up to customers directly in Sandy's path.
On Thursday, Governor Cuomo said he would hold utilities accountable for restoring power - ordering them to devote their full personnel.
National Grid says 1,400 of their workers will make the trip down.
