
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. - A Great Barrington man has been convicted of child rape by a Berkshire court - even though he never appeared for trial.
Officials say 41-year-old Ciro Reyes-Palma fled to Mexico, rather than face trial for sexually molesting a young girl over three years.
Reyes-Palma failed to show up Monday to his trial after being released on $10,000 bail at a Friday hearing.
