
ALBANY, N.Y. - New York State Police are investigating a serious car-tractor trailer accident that left one driver in critical condition Thursday morning.
Police say around 7:00 a.m. Thursday a 1961 Chevrolet driven by 43-year-old Michael Ferneczi, of Staten Island, was traveling northbound on I-87 in the town of Bethlehem when it drifted onto the right shoulder and struck the rear of a truck.
The truck, a 1999 Volvo tractor trailer hauling an empty carrier, had been pulled over to the side of the highway while the driver was checking a loose chain on the right side of the trailer.
The driver of the car, Ferneczi, was transported to Albany Medical Center where his is currently listed in critical condition.
