NEW YORK (AP) - Con Edison says children and adults going trick or treating on Halloween should be extra vigilant for downed wires and other storm debris.
The utility offers the following advice:
-Treat any downed wire in the street or on lawns as if it's carrying electricity.
-Avoid any puddles or standing water, which can conduct electricity.
-Be extra careful crossing intersections in blacked-out areas.
-Carry a flashlight.
-Wear a safety vest.
