AMSTERDAM, NY - On October 30th, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Amsterdam Police Dept. received a report of a robbery at 170 Church St., Slezak Bros., in the City of Amsterdam.
The employee working at the time advised responding officers that a male entered the store, sprayed the victim with an unknown substance, pushed her to the ground and then demanded the money from the register. The male then fled on foot and was last seen running from the store in the area of Church Street.
The male suspect is described as approximately 5'5", medium build, wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, denim jacket, a red bandana and jeans. The suspect stole an undetermined amount of cash and still remains at large.
The police department is asking anyone with information to contact the Amsterdam Police Dept. at (518) 842-1100 and ask to speak with a detective. Detectives will be attempting to obtain video surveillance from any businesses in the area.
