HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. - According to Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Ashe, a freight train has derailed just outside of the village of Hoosick Falls.
The train derailed around 5:00 p.m. in the "middle of the woods," and approximately twelve to thirteen cars have careened off of the tracks.
No one is believed to have been injured at this time.
The train was not carrying passengers or hazardous materials.
According to Police, the train is not posing any danger at this time.
North Hoosick Firemen, Hoosick Falls Policemen and Railroad Police have responded to the wreck, and investigation into the cause is ongoing.
