BERLIN, N.Y. - New York State Police are investigating a fatal one-car accident that took the life of a 25-year-old Stephentown man early Tuesday morning.
Police say around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, a local resident discovered a 1988 Dodge pickup with heavy damage in the Little Hoosick River.
An investigation revealed that the vehicle, driven by 25-year-old Shawn Stryker, had been traveling southbound on ST-22 in the town of Berlin when he drove off the left shoulder of the roadway for an unknown reason.
The vehicle traveled approximately 200 feet
before striking a tree and coming to rest in approximately 12 inches of
water.
Stryker was pronounced at the scene having succumbed to his
injuries from the crash.
There is no indication that this incident was
weather related.
