Woman killed after vehicle struck by roof

ELLENVILLE, N.Y. - An Ulster County woman was killed Monday night when a large section of roof blew onto her car and struck her, State Police report.

State Police in Ellenville responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the Mountain Valley Resort Trailer Park, in the Ulster County hamlet of Kerhonkson, around 6:13 p.m. Monday night.

Investigation at the scene revealed that 69-year-old Doreen Richardson, of Kerhonkson, was killed when a large section of roof blew into the windshield of her vehicle and struck her.

Richardson's vehicle continued a short distance and struck an unoccupied mobile home before coming to rest.

Police say Richardson subsequently succumbed to her injuries at the scene. She was the only person in the car at the time of the accident.
