NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Two young boys were killed when a large tree crashed through a Westchester County home Monday night.
New York State Police say they were called to the North Salem home around 7:20 p.m. for an unknown 911 call. Upon arrival, troopers found that a large tree had crashed through the residence striking and killing two boys, ages 11 and 13.
Two other children, ages 15 and 12, were injured and treated for minor scrapes and abrasions at the scene.
The homeowner, who is the mother to one of the deceased boys and one of the injured
children, was present in the home at the time of the accident. She was not hurt in the accident.
The other
two children were friends from a neighboring residence.
