SCHOHARIE Co. - Residents in Schoharie County still recovering from Tropical Storm Irene are bracing themselves for what could be a second beating by Mother Nature.
Monday, state and local emergency management officials held a press conference not far from the Gilboa Dam.
They announced what pre-sandy preps have been done and their concerns for residents.
They said two of the three major reservoirs near the NY Power Authority's dam and the Gilboa dam have been drained to their lowest levels in order to take on heavy rainfall.
Several Schools are on standby to serve as shelters, but there was still much concern Monday that river and steam beds that had been destroyed by Irene will not handle a tremendous amount of rain. So, officials are urging residents to tune in to e least news and weather reports to stay updated if things take a turn for the worse.
