CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. - Amtrak, Greyhound and Megabus have suspended and canceled several services scheduled between Sunday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th, in light of severe area weather due to Hurricane Sandy.
AMTRAK TRAVEL INFORMATION-
The predicted landfall of Hurricane Sandy, with associated high winds and heavy rains in the mid-Atlantic region, combined with emergency declarations in several states, has led Amtrak to cancel Northeast Corridor service north of New York starting at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, and to cancel nearly all service on the eastern seaboard on Monday, October 29.
All Acela Express, Northeast Regional, Keystone and Shuttle services are canceled for trains originating on that date. Also Empire Service, Adirondack, Vermonter, Ethan Allen and Pennsylvanian train services are suspended, along with the overnight Auto Train, Capitol Limited, Crescent, Lake Shore Limited, Palmetto and Silver Meteor trains.
Exceptions: The Maple Leaf (Trains 63 & 64), will operate only between Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Albany-Rensselaer, N.Y., rather than originating and terminating at New York City; the Carolinian (Trains 79 & 80), will operate only between Charlotte and Raleigh rather than originating and terminating in New York City; the Silver Star (Trains 91 & 92) will operate only between Jacksonville, Tampa and Miami, Fla., rather than originating and terminating in New York City.
Piedmont service (Trains 73-76) within North Carolina will operate normally.
Amtrak Thruway Bus Services associated with these canceled trains are also suspended.
Alternate transportation for canceled services is not available.
Dates for service restorations are pending.
Amtrak will update this statement by 6:00 p.m. ET on Monday, October 29, or as needed.
GREYHOUND TRAVEL INFORMATION-
In anticipation of Hurricane Sandy making landfall, Greyhound Lines will suspend service as follows until further notice:

Commuter Service from Mt. Laurel, NJ to New York, NY and from New York, NY to Mt. Laurel, NJ will not operate on Monday 10/29/12
All service in/out of Washington, DC will be suspended after 7:00 PM on 10/28/12
All service in/out of Baltimore, MD will be suspended after 7:00 PM on 10/28/12
All service in/out of Norfolk, VA is suspended effective immediately
All service in/out of Silver Springs, MD is suspended effective immediately
All service in/out of Ocean City, MD is suspended effective immediately
All service in/out of New York, NY will be suspended at 12:01 AM on 10/29/12
All service in/out of Philadelphia, PA will be suspended at 12:01 AM on 10/29/12
Northbound service out of Richmond, VA will be suspended after 7:00 PM on 10/28/12
Eastbound service out of Pittsburgh, PA will be suspended after 7:00 PM on 10/28/12
Eastbound service out of Cleveland, OH will be suspended after 7:00 PM on 10/28/12
MEGABUS TRAVEL INFORMATION-
Megabus has temporary cancelled the following bus services in light of Hurricane Sandy.

Customers booked on cancelled trips will receive an email with further information.
Customers who are not traveling on the above routes have the opportunity to reschedule their trip at no additional cost if they are booked for travel between Oct. 28–Oct. 30 in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island or Virginia.
