Police charge woman with encouraging young males to fight

Posted:

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Schenectady Police Department has arrested a woman for her role in allegedly orchestrating and encouraging a fight between two juvenile males earlier this month.

Police say the fight took place on October 11th on Sixth Avenue in Mt. Pleasant and was captured on cell phone video. The video was turned over to police detectives, who observed 32-year-old Nickia Dickerson, of 1159 Chrisler Avenue, encouraging the fight.

Dickerson is supposedly seen on the video encouraging the two males to fight. Police say she separates them at one point so they can continue their fight again, and blocks traffic so the two children can continue fighting.

She was arrested on Wednesday after an investigation and charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, two counts of Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Facilitation 4th-degree and Menacing 3rd-degree.

Police are not releasing the video due to the age of the males involved.
