TROY, N.Y. - HVCC students took a rather unorthodox approach to celebrate fall on Thursday with pumpkin tossing.
Engineering science students took part in a special catapult competition to see who could launch a small pumpkin the farthest.
They weren't tossing pumpkins for distance, and they weren't shooting them out of a cannon. These Hudson Valley Community College Engineering students were going for accuracy.
There were five teams involved, each launching four mini pumpkins towards a bucket 75 feet away.
The devices were designed and built by the students themselves, and is all part of HVCC's Pumpkin Palooza, which continues Thursday night at the campus' sports complex at 5:30 p.m.
