SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Plans to privatize Saratoga County's nursing home are moving forward.
Saratoga County Legislators voted in a special public health committee meeting Wednesday night to move the proposal on to the next committee in the process.
More than 100 people - many of them are current employees at Maplewood Manor - opposed to the privatization turned out to the meeting to voice their concerns.
Some County Legislators say the county loses millions of dollar every year running the nursing home and can no longer afford it.
The resolution will now be sent to the law and finance committee. If approved there, it will then be up to the Board of Supervisors.
