ALBANY, N.Y. - Thousands of Capital Region residents participated in Sunday's fundraising walk for the American Cancer Society.
The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraising walk took place in Albany's Washington Park at noon.
The walks, which take place in more than 270 communities, help to raise $60 million each year.
The money goes toward research on finding, preventing, treating and curing breast cancer, ensuring access to mammograms, and providing free resources and support to newly diagnosed women who turn to the Society for support.
