ALBANY, N.Y. - Occupy Albany celebrated its one-year anniversary Sunday, marching back to the place of last year's protests and encampment, Academy Park.
At noon, the group of protesters marched to the park and held a Speak-Out.
Occupy Albany is a protest movement against economic and social inequalities, alleging their foundational association with and support of the '99 percent' and accompanying rejection of the '1 percent,' in reference to income disparity in the United States.
The movement now organizes events from their office at 472 Madison Avenue in Albany.
A candle-light vigil is scheduled for Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. in Academy Park, as a continuation of the one-year anniversary.
