SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - As part of a continued effort by Schenectady County to
streamline county government, a foreclosed property auction was held on
Saturday.
The auction included 71 properties currently owned by Schenectady County and
taken through tax foreclosure or other forfeitures.
Since 2008, Schenectady County has put almost 170 properties back on the tax
rolls through the auction process, either by being sold or redeemed by the
delinquent tax owner. Additional properties have been transferred to local
municipalities or dedicated as park land to expand green space throughout the
County.
The auction was held at the Schenectady County Community College in the Carl
B. Taylor Auditorium.
