KILLINGTON, Vt. - Killington ski resort says they will be powering a lift with the help of "cow power."
They say the one of their gondolas will be powered with electricity generated from methane gas recovered from cow manure.
The manure undergoes a series of steps in a process that produces a bio-gas that is 60-percent methane.
The energy is collected as part of Green Mountain Power's Cow Power Program.
The program allows customers to purchase their electricity at a premium, and support Vermont's dairy farms.
