
SCOTIA, N.Y - This week, the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing will get arctic once again.
Twin ski-equipped lc-130's are gearing up to take a five day trip to Antarctica, showing annual support for the National Science Foundation.
Two planes will depart from the Stratton Air Force Base on Tuesday and Wednesday.
They will be two of six planes headed to Antarctica during the October to February period.
The planes run supplies and carry people to field camps around the continent.
