TROY, N.Y. - On Sunday, artisans, friends, chefs and philanthropists gathered over warm soup for this year's "Empty Bowls" event in Troy.
A fifteen dollar ticket allotted each participant one beautiful, hand-made bowl crafted and donated by a local potter, filled with a simple meal of warm soup and accompanied by fresh bread, prepared and donated by local restaurants.
Proceeds from the "Empty Bowls Project" go to local hunger programs throughout the community.
For the past seven years, the Collar City Clay Guild, in partnership with the Troy Architectural Project, has organized the Empty Bowls Project in Troy, N.Y.
The event was held early this afternoon at the Italian Community Center in Troy.
