GALLUPVILLE, N.Y. - At 3:55 p.m. on Saturday, Schoharie County 911 dispatch received a call for a heavy smoke condition on Route 443 in the Hamlet of Gallupville.
Firefighters entered the residence, extinguished a fire in a chair, and found a deceased male.
Investigators with the Sheriff's Office, the Schoharie County Fire Coordinators and New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control remain on scene as of 7:00 p.m.
