Albany Parking Authority renames one of their garages

Posted:

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany Parking Authority has announced the re-branding of the downtown 'Columbia Garage,' with newly erected signage, as the 'Riverfront Garage.'

This and other new signage being installed throughout downtown Albany will help drivers easily locate the APA's parking in downtown Albany.

"We have renamed this facility as the Riverfront Garage to help our customers realize that this parking connects with the pedestrian bridge to the Corning Preserve. The preserve, which serves as the site for Alive at 5 and other special events, has a dock on the river and has beautiful views of the Hudson River year-round," said Michael Klein, Executive Director of The APA. "The wide availability of parking downtown is one of Albany's best kept secrets. The new ParkAlbany signage will raise awareness and let people know that there is a lot of convenient parking downtown. All 3 APA garages are staffed, well lit, and located within one, two, or three blocks of most downtown destinations."

The 850-space Riverfront Garage is open 24/7/359 (it closes for 6 major holidays) and is close to downtown Albany's Entertainment district on North Pearl Street as well as the Corning Preserve.

Customer pay $2 for up to 12 hours of parking beginning at 6 p.m. daily.

Customers are welcome to leave their cars and park for days rather than hours - the additional cost is a maximum of $11 for the next 12 hours.

Monthly parking is available as well.
