ALBANY, N.Y. - The New York state parking authority put on their rain coats and hit the streets for a charity walk Friday morning to raise money for the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
The walk for charity was part of the association's 20th annual conference held in the Capital District this week.
Walkers enjoyed a guided tour of several historical sites throughout Albany Friday morning, and all of the proceeds benefiting the humane society.
"The walking tour was a great way for conference attendees to learn about the historic city of Albany while giving back to the local community," states Michele Vennard, President/CEO of the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Although the weather wasn't ideal, they didn't let a few raindrops slow them down. When the walk concluded NYSPA handed over a check to the Humane Society.
"The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is honored to have been chosen as the recipient of this donation," states Brad Shear, Executive Director of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. "We are very appreciative of the generosity of the New York State Parking Association."
