SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Schenectady Police Department has made an arrested in the attempted robbery of a 16-year-old Schenectady High School student that occurred Tuesday morning.
Around 8:36 a.m. police responded to a call of three males assaulting one male near the intersection of Phoenix Ave and The Plaza.
Officers
arrived on scene and interviewed the victim, a SHS
student, who told them that
a fellow student attempted to rob him of his iPhone. The victim told them he was able to fight back and was able to retain possession of the phone before the suspect and two other males were seen fleeing south on Phoenix Ave.
Police were soon able to
locate the suspect, identified as a 16-year-old Schenectady male, and the other two males in the area of the Getty on Union
Ave.
The suspect was charged with Attempted Robbery 2nd-degree.
The victim was uninjured in the incident.
