Pedestrian lying in I-91 roadway fatally struck by two vehicles


HARTFORD, VT - 24-year-old Mikhail Lomakin was reported deceased on the scene of a fatal car accident in Hartford, Vermont in the early hours of October 6th.

Vermont State Police in Royalton were dispatched to the report of a fatal accident involving a pedestrian on I-91 Southbound at mile marker 73 in Hartford, VT, on Saturday at approximately 2:24 in the morning.

Initial investigation showed that Mikhail had been struck by two different vehicles on I-91.

Both drivers had been traveling southbound on I-91, when they observed a large object in the roadway that they initially believed to be a dead animal.

Upon getting closer to the object, they realized that it was a person lying in the right travel lane of I-91.

Both drivers were unable to avoid colliding with the person in the roadway.

Mikhail Lomakin was pronounced deceased at the scene, and transported to the OCME in Burlington for an autopsy.

Anyone who was traveling on I-91 between Exit 14 and Exit 11 on early Saturday morning, between approximately 1:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., that saw a pedestrian on the roadway or anything suspicious, is asked to call Vermont State Police in Royalton at 802-234-9933.

Additionally, Vermont State Police would like to hear from anyone that had contact with Mikhail Lomakin on either October 5th or October 6th, 2012.
