ALBANY, N.Y. - More than 200 volunteers and Albany residents are joining forces today to build a new playground, using just one day, at the Macedonia Baptist Church.
The new playground will provide hundreds of children in Albany with a safe place to play.
Macedonia Baptist Church is located at 26 Wilson Avenue in Albany.
The project is part of 'Let's Play,' a community partnership led by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group to get kids and families active nationwide.
In addition to the community-built playground, the new play area will also include 'Imagination Playground in a Box,' a break-through playspace concept designed to encourage child-directed and unstructured free-play.
With reconfigurable loose parts, the 'Imagination Playground in a Box' allows children to constantly change their environment and design their own course of play.
