ALBANY – A routine traffic stop for traffic violations led to a drug arrest by troopers patrolling I-787.
On Sunday September 30, troopers stopped Andrew A. Northern, 42, of Troy. During the stop, they discovered five bags of pot, around 190 grams of heroin, and a clear plastic bag containing a substance believed to be cocaine.
Northern was ticketed for the traffic infractions and charged with Unlawful possession of marihuana, one count of misdemeanor Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the 2nd-Degree, one count of Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th-Degree, a felony, one count of Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd-Degree, a felony, and one count of Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 2nd-Degree, a felony.
He was processed at the Latham State Police Barracks and transported to Albany Police to await arraignment.
