DA: Loeser pleads guilty to kidnapping, sexually abusing 3 boys
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. - The Saratoga County District Attorney says 22-year-old Clifton Park man has pleaded guilty to charges relating to kidnapping and sexually abusing three young boys.
DA James Murphy says Eric Loeser will be sentenced to at least 20 years in state prison for pleaded guilty to four charges - Kidnapping 2nd-degree, Criminal Sexual Act 1st-degree, Criminal Sexual Act 3rd-degree, and Sexual Abuse 2nd-degree - in Saratoga County Court on Wednesday.
Loeser is alleged to have had perpetrated on three child victims in Saratoga County.
Murphy says Loeser met the first victim when he was working as an EMT responding to a call to medically help the child, who was then 15-years-old. Loeser then offered to "runaway" with the child and in July 2011 abducted the child from his home.
Murphy says over the next 20 days, Loeser sexually assulted the boy and hid him from law enforcement who were actively looking
for him. He took the victim to Pennsylvania, Vermont and throughout NY
state before ultimately dumping the child off at an apartment complex
in Buffalo. The child ultimately found help from an unknown neighbor in Buffalo and called for
Murphy says Loeser befriended a
second young boy, then 9-years-old, and his family in 2009 and began acting as the child's "big
brother." Loeser then allegedly encouraged the child to claim that his own parents were abusing him, with the
promise that he would then adopt the boy. Over the course of several
months, Loeser is accused of sexually assaulting the little boy.
The third victim, age 13, was befriended by Loeser when he claimed to have rendered medical
assistance as an EMT to the child's injured friend. Then, after establishing a friendship with the young teen, Loeser encouraged the child
to become 'emancipated' and live with him and sexually assaulted him.
Murphy says Loeser will be sentenced to 20 years, 6 months in state prison, with 20-year post-release supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender in NYS.
