Police: Man assaulted, raped girlfriend

WAPPINGER, N.Y. - State police have arrested a Dutchess County man who allegedly violently assaulted and raped his live-in girlfriend.

Police say 27-year-old Justin Carrino, from the Village of Fishkill, was arrested after receiving a report from a woman who reported she was violently assaulted by her live-in boyfriend.

The 34-year-old woman supposedly walked to a local bank branch after the attack, asking to use the telephone to call for help.

The Village of Fishkill Police Department responded and contacted state police after interviewing the woman. She was then transported to a local hospital for evaluation and medical treatment.

After an investigation, Carrino was arrested and charged with Rape 1st-degree and Assault 2nd-degree.
