ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo is touring commercial sites around Syracuse considered ripe for growing private sector jobs.
Cuomo is taking reporters and local officials to companies in Onondaga County that are targeted for state economic development enticements.
Other tours around the state will soon follow.
Cuomo's regional economic development councils enlisted local officials to help direct the state to the best ways to bolster employment using regional assets. Many will try to capitalize on high-technology industries that already have footholds in the area.
The millions of dollars in tax breaks that will go to companies is a re-allocation of state economic development funds.
Tuesday's tour began at the Central New York Biotechnology Research Center in Syracuse.
