SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Saratoga Springs High School football coach Terry Jones, with the permission of Travis Mooney's family, has released an update to us on Travis Mooney's condition, after the injury that Travis sustained during the homecoming football game on the night of September 28th.
During the homecoming game, Travis was knocked unconscious on the field, and had to be transferred to the Albany Medical Center.
Travis Mooney is "doing very well," said Coach Jones. "He's sitting up, eating lunch."
Coach Jones was just returning from the hospital at around 6:00 p.m., as they were bringing Travis dinner.
Travis Mooney's spirits are said to be high, and throughout the day he's said to have shown great improvements.
"Travis is upset that they chose not to do the medical air evacuation," said Coach Jones, allowing a fond chuckle. "He heard them talking about it in the ambulance, and said he was looking forward to riding in the helicopter."
