CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - Shenendehowa Central Schools says that the high school went into lock-out mode on Thursday morning after a report of a comment allegedly made on a social media site by a student.
The New York State Police investigated the matter and it was found not to be a threat and the lock-out was lifted.
The district asks parents to use this as an opportunity to remind your children that cyber-bullying amendment to the Dignity For All Student Act (DASA) grants schools authority over communications that occur off-campus.
The district also says any
threatening or harassing statements will be taken seriously and investigated to the
fullest extent of the law.
