Amsterdam man charged in burglary

AMSTERDAM, NY - On September 4th, the Amsterdam Police Dept. received a complaint of a burglary at 313 East Main Street, Kings Food and Fuel II, in the city of Amsterdam. 

The suspect forcibly entered the store at approximately 2:00 a.m., stole numerous cartons of cigarettes and attempted to gain access to the store cash register. 

Amsterdam Detectives conducted an interview with a potential suspect today and determined that he was the individual shown in video surveillance, entering the store and stealing the above listed items, the defendants' information is listed below: 

Michael Saldana, 32, of 238 Vrooman Ave., Amsterdam, was arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd degree, a class D felony; and Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor. 

Saldana was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and remanded to the Montgomery Co. Correctional Facility.
