SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Three young puppies, including one who was dead, were found in a container outside a 7th Avenue home in Schenectady on Tuesday, police say.
Police in Schenectady say they received a call around 8:20 a.m. stating that three puppies, around 5 or 6-weeks-old, were found by a resident outside a home on 7th Avenue, in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood of the city.
The resident tells NEWS10 they were found dumped across the street from her home in a dirty milk crate. She says she wrapped the puppies in towels until the police arrived.
The two surviving puppies are currently being evaluated at Hernas Veterinary Clinic in Schenectady, but are expected to make a full recovery. Police say the puppies appear to be lab/hound mixes.
