STEPHEHTOWN, N.Y. - State police say they have arrested a Stephentown man who allegedly stabbed his brother multiple times during a physical argument at a party early Saturday morning.
Police say around 4 a.m. they responded to a call at a Sutherland Road home, where it was discovered 28-year-old Christopher Beckwith allegedly stabbed his brother, 33-year-old Jacob Beckwith, also of Stephentown, with a knife.
Police say the two got into a verbal argument during a party at the home which escalated into a physical fight in which Jacob Beckwith was stabbed multiple times in the torso and arm before fleeing the residence and calling 911.
Jacob Beckwith was transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Christopher Beckwith is charged with Assault 1st and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, both felonies, and remanded to the Rensselaer County jail without bail.
