SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - On Thursday, the Albany Division of the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested a Connecticut man in Schenectady who was wanted for murder.
23-year-old Joseph Walker, of Waterbury, Connecticut, was arrested on Eastern Avenue in Schenectady on a warrant issued May 23rd.
Walker has been charged by the Waterbury Police Department for the May 12th murder of 27-year-old David Caban. Caban was shot in the head while sitting in the back seat of a Mitsubishi Galant that was parked in front of his home and left the scene of the murder after the shooting. Police say Caban's body was found sometime later in a roadway and he was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Waterbury Police have told the media that the murder was drug related.
Walker was arrested and taken to the Schenectady Police Department for processing following his arrest and will await extradition back to Connecticut to face the murder charges.
Walker is also facing drug charges in Schenectady. Found in Walker's possession at the time of his arrest was a quantity of crack cocaine.
